Battle of kettle creek- In February 1779, a rebel patriot group that were led by colonel Elijah Clarke attacked around 800 British soldiers at kettle creek, near Washington, Ga. they defeated the British, and it lifted the spirits of the Georgian soldiers, and allowed them to take supplies and weapons from the British soldiers.
The siege of savannah- In 1779 in September, twenty-two French ships and Charles Henri Comte Estaing commanding 4,000 soldiers arrived off Tybee Island. They joined General Benjamin Lincoln with about 15,000 Americans under his command and laid siege to savannah. On daybreak of October 9, the American and French troops attacked. The British won and had control over savannah for the next 3 1/2 years.
The battle of Yorktown- The last major battle was on October 9, 1781 in Yorktown Virginia. George Washington and his troops with help from the French Caused the British to surrender.
